At Movement Synergy Allied Health, we are dedicated to educating and empowering people of all ages and backgrounds to improve their physical health and wellbeing through movement. Specialising in dance-specific programmes, our mission is to educate and empower young female athletes, assisting them to achieve their goals without injury!
Who am I?
For those that don't know me, my name is Dana. I'm the Founder and Principal Exercise Physiologist at Movement Synergy Allied Health. I am also a retired professional Irish Dancer.
My two biggest passions in life are dance and preventative health care. Working as an Exercise Physiologist and creating Movement Synergy has given me the opportunity to combine both of my passions to assist dancers in unlocking their full potential and reaching their goals injury free!
I'm a firm believer that dance should be ENJOYABLE and SUSTAINABLE. We start dancing because we love it and it's why we keep at it for so many years! However, I do believe that with the right knowledge and interventions, many of the injuries in dance are preventable.
My aim is to provide a health service that is educational and engaging, empowering young dancers to understand their own bodies and how they move, therefore preventing injuries and keeping them health and happy, both on and off the stage.
What can you expect from these blogs?
My goal is to use these fortnightly blogs as a platform to showcase specialist advice and break down research in exercise physiology & dance development... with a few anecdotes and musings from a retired professional dancer mixed in!
